Examples of walks and tours

As part of the first session you are required to follow an audio tour and you most probably will want to get it from the internet and download it to an mp3 player. Below are some examples of tours that you can do which are pretty local.

Ben Cummins, Deptford X audio tour. This tour is the most local and could be done very easily and you get to see Deptford X festival

And While London Burns – Platform Arts. This renowned group takes people on tours of the city that hit home the hidden rivers of money, oil and power that flow through the city and seep out into all our lives. This tour is a brilliant piece of work and well worth the time to go to the city.

Linked - Graeme Miller. Miller recorded inhabitants feelings of loss at the demise of their communities as they were bulldozed to make way for the M11 link road. It is strange to think when you drive along to the M11, the lost communities that made way for it. But I suppose that is the same for any large scale motorway or development.

Janet Cardiff is a world renowned artist from Canada known for her immersive audio works. She takes us on a tour of the Whitechapel area on one day back in the beginning of the decade and suggests you observe the changes and take in the 'now'.

There are plenty of other alternative audio tours you could follow, search the aboves websites and you will find more. You could also take a tour of the Tate Modern or other Galleries or museums, but remember that doing something that is not official often allows you to peer underneath the established veneer.

Coordinate finder so that you can find the latitude and longitude for your infoWindows. It is a little long winded but it works, if you can find a better site or way to do this, then let everyone know
